TINTED OAK COLLECTION

WOOD SPECIES (ORIGIN)
Quercus Petrae or Sessile Oak, is a tree native to central southern Europe, widespread in hill and mountain areas up to 1300 metres above sea level.

It belongs to the Fagaceae family and grows to about 30-40 metres in height with an erect, sturdy, tapered trunk with branches in the upper part only, forming a broad crown with deciduous foliage.

Thanks to their deep root system, oaks produce a timber with outstanding resistance to weather and especially to drought, and are fairly long-lived: they survive to 500-800 years of age and reach their full size at 120-200 years.

The key timber species in the Proparq range, Oak has always been the most popular type of wood for parquet floors thanks to its attractive appearance and durability.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Oak has an often uneven yellow-brown colour and a coarse texture with a broad stippled sometimes irregular vein pattern.

It is a relatively knot free wood, varying in quality depending on its origin. Proparq flooring is made from the best species of primarily French Oak,  providing a hard durable end product.

The Proparq range in this timber is extensive. From unfinished Oak which can be customised on site, to a range of 16 pre-finished colours and a variety of textures as featured below.
