From the countries of central Africa, the Doussie plant belongs to the Fabaceae family and is known as the Afzelia tree. The tree reaches a considerable size with heights of up to 40m and a diameter of 1.20m with a trunk section that is consistent in its width. As for the colour, the sapwood is whitish while the heartwood is a beautiful reddish brown colour. TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Doussie is a very hard wood with an interlocking grain that does not change during the wood ageing process. It is durable and offers high resistance to foot traffic wear.
The elegant reddish brown colour makes it a popular choice in the production of timber flooring. Impressive characteristics of this African beauty include high resistance to moisture and mechanical stresses along with the ability to withstand different climatic conditions.
